2025 Corrections

March 18, 2025

Article: "Inflation Peaked at 9.1% in June 2022"

Original error: An earlier version of this article stated that inflation peaked at 9.1% in July 2022.

Correction: The 9.1% peak was recorded in June 2022, not July. The July 2022 CPI reading was 8.5%. The error did not affect the verdict, which was TRUE, but the date was incorrect. We have updated the article accordingly.

February 5, 2025

Article: "Claims About Federal Reserve Rate Decisions"

Original error: The article cited the Federal Reserve's benchmark rate as 5.25% as of the publication date.

Correction: The Federal Reserve had adjusted the rate between our research date and publication. We updated the figure to reflect the rate at the time of publication and added a note that rate decisions are subject to ongoing change. The core verdict of the fact-check was not affected.

January 22, 2025

Article: "Study on Microplastic Detection Methods"

Original error: An earlier version of the article attributed the pyrolysis gas chromatography-mass spectrometry technique to a 2020 paper. The technique was developed earlier and applied specifically in the blood-detection context in a 2022 paper.

Correction: We corrected the attribution and updated the citations section to accurately reflect the 2022 Leslie et al. study as the primary detection study. The verdict (TRUE) was not affected.

No corrections logged before January 2025 — corrections documentation began January 1, 2025. Prior to that date, corrections were noted in individual articles but not aggregated in this log.
